Job Overview:
We’re seeking an extraordinary Marketing Lead to build our marketing foundation from scratch. We are at zero today—no brand presence, no marketing funnel, no outreach—so this role is about going from 0 → 1 and beyond. We’re looking for an extraordinary marketing professional who can lead strategy and execution. As our first dedicated marketing hire, you’ll be responsible for everything from market research and positioning to campaign design and content creation. You will establish our marketing foundation, craft our brand story, and drive measurable growth in user acquisition and engagement.
This is a hands-on role with high ownership, where you’ll literally build the playbook that defines our growth trajectory. As our first marketing hire, you’ll craft a value proposition, conduct competitor analysis, position Skiplyn in the market, create content using tools like Canva, and drive app downloads through a strategic marketing funnel and roadmap.
Responsibilities:
- Create a marketing roadmap and go-to-market strategy.
- Develop the full marketing funnel (acquisition → retention → referral).
- Develop a compelling value proposition to highlight Skiplyn’s unique offerings.
- Conduct competitor analysis to position Skiplyn against our competitors.
- Create a marketing funnel to attract, engage, and convert price-conscious users (e.g., students).
- Build a marketing roadmap to boost brand awareness and app downloads.
- Design content (e.g., social media posts, graphics, videos) using Canva for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
- Launch campaigns (social media, email, partnerships) to drive user acquisition.
- Set up analytics and tracking for all channels; define and measure KPIs.
- Experiment with growth tactics (SEO, ASO, performance ads, influencer outreach, etc.).
- Align closely with the product team to ensure positioning and messaging reflect user needs.
Requirements:
- MUST have 5+ years of Marketing experience, building a marketing foundation from scratch.
- MUST have exposure to U.S. Market
- Experience building marketing foundations at an early-stage startup (0 → 1).
- Ability to wear multiple hats — strategist, storyteller, content creator, and performance marketer.
- Proven experience building marketing strategies from scratch in a startup.
- Expertise in value proposition development, competitor analysis, and market positioning.
- Strong skills in content creation using Canva and digital marketing (social media, SEO, email, paid ads).
- Passion for Skiplyn’s mission to deliver affordable dining experiences.
- Strong skills in strategy (positioning, competitor analysis, value proposition) and execution (content, campaigns, growth experiments).
- Proven track record of driving measurable user acquisition and brand growth.
- Excellent communication, creativity, and analytical thinking.
- Comfortable working independently, with high ownership and accountability, 40 hours/week, aligned with PST hours.
