Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Prime SteelPosition Overview
Prime Steel is embarking on a large-scale integrated steel manufacturing project. We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial strategy, manage capital efficiency, and ensure long-term financial sustainability of the business. The CFO will play a critical role in structuring project finance, managing banking and investor relationships, driving cost efficiency, and ensuring strong governance in a highly competitive steel industry environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic & Financial Leadership- Drive financial strategy to support Prime Steel’s growth, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and market expansion.
- Partner with the Managing Director and Board in long-term strategic planning, project execution, and capital allocation.
- Lead financing strategies, including project loans, working capital lines, equity raising, and potential IPO preparation.
- Provide financial modeling and feasibility analyses for new capacity expansions, downstream products, and export strategies.
- Manage multi-banking consortiums, syndicate loans, and debt restructuring, ensuring optimal capital structure.
- Oversee treasury, working capital, and liquidity management, with focus on power-intensive steel operations.
- Build strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, private equity, and venture investors.
- Ensure timely preparation of financial statements, MIS reports, and management dashboards.
- Implement robust internal controls, SAP/ERP financial automation, and best-in-class reporting standards.
- Ensure compliance with Nepalese accounting standards, IFRS, tax laws, customs, excise, and regulatory frameworks.
- Drive governance, risk management, and cost optimization across procurement, operations, and project execution.
- Partner with procurement, sales, and operations to manage raw material pricing, hedging, and forex exposure.
- Provide commercial insights into steel price fluctuations, import/export duties, and margin management.
- Monitor key production KPIs – capacity utilization, conversion costs, energy costs, and yield.
- Develop and monitor cost control initiatives, especially in power, raw material, and logistics.
- Build and mentor a strong finance and accounts team capable of managing multi-location, high-volume transactions.
- Drive a performance-driven culture with clear KPIs, accountability, and reporting standards.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the Board and senior leadership team.
- CA/CPA/CFA/MBA (Finance) or equivalent advanced degree.
- 15+ years of experience in finance leadership, ideally in steel, heavy manufacturing, cement, or infrastructure industries.
- Proven track record in managing large project finance, consortium banking, and fundraising.
- Experience in IPO preparation and investor relations preferred.
- Strong expertise in ERP (preferably SAP Business One / S4HANA) and financial automation.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills with high integrity and resilience.
