Job Scope
As an Admissions Counsellor at upGrad Study Abroad, you will play a pivotal role in guiding prospective students through their journey toward studying overseas. This role demands strong consultative sales skills, a deep understanding of the higher education landscape, and the ability to build long-term trust with learners. You will work closely with leads to understand their goals, provide expert guidance, and convert interest into successful enrolments.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted mentor and advisor to prospective learners exploring study abroad opportunities.
- Counsel students on their career paths and how upGrad’s global education programs can accelerate their aspirations.
- Manage and achieve weekly enrolment, revenue, and collection targets.
- Effectively communicate the value proposition and learning outcomes of upGrad’s online/blended study abroad programs.
- Own the complete sales lifecycle, including outreach (phone/video), product demonstrations, sales closing, and post-sales engagement.
- Maintain detailed and updated records of all lead interactions within the CRM system.
Basic Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum 2 years of EdTech sales experience; prior experience in the study abroad sector is a strong plus.
- At least 1 year of stability in the current or previous role.
- Graduate degree (minimum); higher qualifications are a plus.
- Strong track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced 6-day work environment.
- Excellent English communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Proven ability to build rapport and trust with learners.
- Patient, empathetic, and solution-oriented approach to counselling.
