About The Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented Tax Processing Associate to support our tax team in preparing and processing individual tax returns for our Australian non-resident clients. You'll play a key role in maintaining accuracy and compliance in tax documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and verify tax documents provided by Australian tax non-resident clients.
  • Process individual tax returns using internal tax software systems.
  • Perform preliminary calculations for property-related rental income and deductions schedule.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with Australian tax laws and ATO guidelines.
  • Liaise with tax consultants and team leads for clarification on complex files.
  • Maintain internal documentation and processing logs.
  • Flag potential issues or incomplete documentation for review.
  • Support the audit and internal quality control process

Requirements

Required Experience

  • Prior experience in Accounting or Bookkeeping.
  • Experience working in a high-volume accounting or outsourcing environment.
  • Familiarity with client documentation such as rental schedules and income statements.

Note: This is an entry-level role. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Favorable Experience

  • Experience using Australian tax software like HandiTax, Xero Tax, or Class Super.
  • Basic understanding of rental schedule calculations for Australian property.
  • Data handling or client onboarding experience.
  • Working knowledge of international tax treaties or residency rules.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with team members in different time zones.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Completion of tax processing or bookkeeping certifications is a plus.
  • Working towards CA/CPA or other professional qualification (not essential).

Required Skills

  • Strong foundation in accounting principles and tax fundamentals.
  • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cloud-based document handling.
  • Excellent English skills, both written and verbal.
  • Organised, reliable, and able to manage workload autonomously.
