We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to optimize machinery performance, ensure production efficiency, and implement maintenance protocols at our manufacturing facility in Kathmandu. You will play a critical role in minimizing downtime and improving operational reliability.
✔ Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Conduct preventive/predictive maintenance of:
- Production line machinery
- Hydraulic/pneumatic systems
- Boilers, compressors, and material handling equipment
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical breakdowns within 4hr MTTR
✔ Process Improvement
- Identify OEE improvement opportunities (target: 85%+)
- Redesign mechanical components for 10-15% efficiency gains
- Implement energy-saving initiatives
✔ Project Execution
- Lead machine installation/commissioning
- Manage CAPEX projects (budget: NPR 2M-5M)
- Prepare technical specifications for new equipment
✔ Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to OSHA/Nepal factory safety standards
- Conduct monthly safety audits
- Maintain equipment logs as per regulatory requirements
✔ Team Coordination
- Train technicians on maintenance procedures
- Liaise with production, electrical, and QA teams
- Manage 3-5 junior engineers/technicians
◼ Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering
◼ 5+ years in manufacturing plant maintenance
◼ Technical Expertise:
- CAD (SolidWorks/AutoCAD)
- CMMS software
- Welding/fabrication skills
◼ Industry-Specific Knowledge:
- Packaging/Pneumatics (FMCG)
- GMP-compliant systems (Food)
- Foundry/rolling mill (Steel)
◼ Key Competencies:
- Root cause analysis
- Spare parts management
- Bilingual (Nepali/English)
