SMEC has an exciting opportunity for a River Training Engineer to work on major transport projects across Asia.
Key Responsibility
- Plan and supervise river training works such as guide bunds, spurs, and revetments for protection of structures.
- Conduct hydraulic and sediment transport analysis using modeling tools to assess river behavior and scour risks.
- Coordinate with bridge design, geotechnical, and environmental teams to integrate river protection measures.
- Supervise construction activities to ensure quality and compliance with design specifications.
- Prepare technical reports and communicate regularly with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Apply engineering judgment to adapt designs to changing site conditions during implementation.
- Ensure all river training works comply with relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to resolving technical issues during design and construction phases.
- Support in review of contractor’s submissions, drawings, and method statements related to river works.
- Participate in progress meetings and provide updates on river training activities and risks.
Key Requirements
- He/She has Master's degree in Civil engineering/Water resource engineering, or related field.
- He/She has minimum 20 years of experience professional experience
- He/She has minimum 10 years of design/Supervision experience in similar field such as Bridge/Roads/Rails etc.
