Job Description
The Sales Manager MLN oversees all Sales-activities of MLN for all of company’s products and services. The jobholder is responsible for developing and implementing Sales strategies and the corresponding implementation plans.
The Sales Manager MLN is responsible for meeting or exceeding the annual sales and growth targets while at the same time achieving the targeted Gross Margins. He/she is responsible for managing a team of sales professionals who execute sales plans and activities that generate the planned revenue and growth.
Job Specific Duties

Key Responsibilities
Developing coherent sales strategies
· Define and ensure implementation of a coherent marketing- and sales strategy for MLN
· Assign clearly defined responsibilities and targets to members of the team
· Define new geographical territories and new products to be developed and exploited
Managing sales team
· Lead and manage the sales team providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance
· Conduct regular review sessions and annual performance review with each member of the team
· Ensure continuous development of sales, negotiation and communication-skills of team members
· Foster a collaborative and motivated sales environment to maximize team efficiency
Annual sales - and expense targets
· Define quarterly annual sales and expense targets for sales team
· Create a detailed sales plan, including target segments, pricing strategies, and promotional activities
· Assign individual annual targets and sales territories to individual members of Sales team
· Plan annual trade shows with potential prospects and cost of participation
Monitor the financial performance
· Analysis of monthly and YTD performance (sales, COS, Gross-margin)
· Monitor individual sales performance of team members
· Provide a monthly sales forecast (3-months rolling forecast)
· Propose and implement corrective action based on monthly financial analysis
Industry trends and developments
· Analyze market trends, competitor offerings, and customer preferences to refine sales strategies
· Keep abreast of new developments and trends in Nepal’s tourism industry and in general
Continuous development of new products and services
· Supervise and manage the development of new products and services to meet upcoming demands from potential customers
·Ensure on-going growth of revenue through creation of innovative new products and services
·Target new potential customers categories (age-groups, gender, high-worth individuals, celebrities etc.)
Meeting annual sales target
·Responsible for meeting or exceeding agreed sales and growth targets
· Adjust strategies during the financial year to adapt to new developments and new opportunities
People Management and Teamwork
· Day-to-day management of Sales Team
· Ensure proper implementation of agreed workflow-process between Sales and Operations
·Encourage and foster teamwork within Sales team and with other cross-functional teams within SHG
· Provide regular feedback on employee performance, conduct annual performance review
· Focus on training and development of assigned staff.
Key Performance Measures (KPI'S)
- Meeting annual sales target (sales revenue)
- Sales Growth: achieve targeted growth in specified and targeted areas
- Sales forecast on a monthly basis (3-months rolling forecast)
- Gross-Margin as per target – proper control of cost of products sold
- Focus on activities with impact on revenue and growth
- Coordinate with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns that drive awareness and interest in packages
- Delegation of all operational activities to Operations – focus on Sales
- Active participation and regular attendance in weekly SMT-meetings
- Timely and professional resolution of customer complaints
Profile and Minimum Job Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in similar position
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree (preference with focus on tourism/hospitality field)
- Excellent client-facing and interpersonal skills – outgoing personality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent in English (conversation, written) and advantage if any European / Japanese / Chinese language
- Solid organizational skills: time-management, meeting deadlines, capable of multi-tasking
- Mastering MS-Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
