Summary

Cedar Gate Services is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in building scalable data processing systems using Python, Java, and SQL. This role focuses on designing and implementing high-performance data workflows for large-scale analytics in a cloud-based environment.

You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and DevOps teams to build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines and processing frameworks.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines using Java, Python, and SQL
• Build data processing workflows using big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hive, and Amazon EMR
• Optimize data workflows for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability
• Develop and maintain data models to support business analytics and reporting
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and lineage across the data platform
• Integrate data pipelines with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, and Step Functions
• Implement automated testing and monitoring for data workflows
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet data and infrastructure requirements
• Adhere to modern software engineering best practices including version control, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies
  
  

Required Experience / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science , Engineering, or related field
• 4+ years of experience in software or data engineering
• Proficient in Python and Java for backend and data pipeline development
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with big data analytics
• Hands-on experience with distributed data processing tools like Spark, Hive, or MapReduce
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services including S3, Lambda, and CloudWatch
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Snowflake and Snowpark is a plus
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or AWS Step Functions
• Exposure to DataOps , infrastructure-as-code, and automation practices
• Understanding of data governance, security, and performance monitoring
