Role Description

This is a full-time role for an Interior Designer specializing in hospitality projects. The role is on-site and located in Kathmandu. The Interior Designer will be responsible for developing design concepts, creating space planning layouts, preparing construction drawings, selecting furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), and coordinating with architects and contractors. The Interior Designer will ensure the design meets client specifications and adheres to budget and timeline constraints.


Qualifications

  • Expertise in Interior Design and Space Planning
  • Proficiency in Architecture and Construction Drawings
  • Experience with FF&E selection and specifications
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work on-site in Kathmandu
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture.
  • Experience in hospitality design is preferred


Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Client and Vision Alignment:

Understanding the client's brand vision and translating it into a cohesive design plan that reflects the establishment's identity and goals. 

  • Space Planning & Functionality:

Designing the layout of spaces to ensure seamless guest movement, efficient staff workflow, and practical functionality, particularly in high-traffic areas like lobbies and dining rooms. 

  • Material and Furniture Selection:

Choosing appropriate furniture, lighting, color schemes, fabrics, and decorative elements that enhance the desired ambiance and are durable for high-use environments. 

  • Aesthetic Creation:

Developing an inviting and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere that aligns with the brand and evokes specific emotions, making guests feel comfortable and valued. 

  • Brand Identity:

Ensuring the interior design reinforces and strengthens the hospitality brand, creating a memorable and distinctive experience for guests. 

  • Guest Experience Focus:

Prioritizing human-centered design by considering the psychological aspects of space, comfort, and guest satisfaction, aiming to create a "home away from home" feeling. 

  • Renovation and Refurbishment:

Updating and modernizing existing spaces to keep them relevant to trends and changing guest preferences. 

  • Compliance and Safety:

Adhering to safety regulations, accessibility standards, and building codes to create safe and inclusive environments. 

  • Collaboration:

Working with architects and other professionals to integrate the interior design with the overall building structure and systems. 

  • Post-Occupancy Evaluation:

Assessing the success of the design after the space is occupied, making adjustments, and gathering feedback for future projects.
