Job Description

A. Key Responsibility Areas (KRA):

1. Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

· Lead the diagnosis and resolution of technical issues related to VFDs, compressors, chillers, and process control sensors.

· Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtimes.

· Analyze root causes of failures and drive continuous improvement initiatives.


2. Team Leadership & Supervision:

· Manage and mentor a team of electricians and junior engineers, fostering skill development and high performance.

· Assign tasks, monitor work execution, and ensure adherence to maintenance schedules.

· Collaborate with production, instrumentation, and utility teams to align electrical support with operational goals.


3. Projects, Installations & System Upgrades:

· Oversee electrical installations, commissioning of new equipment, and system upgrades.

· Evaluate and recommend solutions to enhance system reliability, energy efficiency, and process automation.

· Liaise with OEMs and vendors for technical specifications, procurement, and performance validations.


4. Safety, Compliance & Audits:

· Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, statutory regulations, and internal SOPs.

· Conduct periodic electrical safety audits, risk assessments, and implement corrective actions.

· Promote a safety-first culture within the electrical team and across departments.


5. Documentation, Reporting & Budgeting:

· Maintain detailed documentation of all maintenance activities, electrical drawings, and modifications.

· Generate periodic reports on system performance, power consumption, and maintenance KPIs.

· Contribute to the preparation of annual maintenance budgets and manage costs within approved limits.


B. Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering completed.


C. Experience:

· Minimum 12 years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering within a manufacturing or process industry, preferably in a distillery or similar plant environment.


D. Required Competencies:

· Proven track record in team leadership, plant maintenance, and electrical project execution. 

· Strong technical expertise in electrical systems, power distribution, VFDs, PLCs, and automation.

· Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and decision-making skills.

· Demonstrated ability to manage teams, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure.

· Proficient in using maintenance management systems (CMMS) and preparing technical documentation.

· Familiarity with ISO, OSHA, and statutory compliance standards.
