Position Overview

The Counselor (New Zealand) will be part of the Student Service Department and report directly to the Destination Manager. This role is responsible for delivering expert counseling services to students interested in studying in New Zealand. The ideal candidate will support students through the entire process, from inquiry to visa application, ensuring accurate information, exceptional service, and successful placement.

Key Responsibilities

Student Counseling and Guidance

  • Counsel students on university/career options, course selection, visa requirements, and financial planning.
  • Guide students in selecting appropriate programs and institutions in New Zealand.
  • Advise on supporting documents and application processes.

Application and Visa Process

  • Assist with document verification, application submissions, and visa preparation.
  • Collaborate with Documentation Officers to ensure complete and error-free applications.

Customer Service and Relationship Management

  • Deliver excellent customer service throughout the counseling journey.
  • Respond to queries professionally and resolve student concerns promptly.

Team Collaboration and Support

  • Work closely with Destination Managers and the counseling team across destinations.
  • Offer alternative options for students whose profiles may not match New Zealand entry criteria.
  • Promote cross-functional cooperation to maintain high student satisfaction.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Track counseling outcomes and student placements.
  • Maintain reports on application status and student feedback.

Professional Development and Updates

  • Keep up with the latest New Zealand education policies, visa changes, and institutional updates.
  • Participate in internal training and workshops.

Student Conversion and Events

  • Encourage students to enroll in KEF’s test preparation classes.
  • Represent KEF at fairs, workshops, and promotional events.

Required Qualifications And Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in student counseling or education consultancy.
  • Strong knowledge of New Zealand's education system, visa process, and financial documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, organized, and able to work under pressure.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools and CRM systems.
