Role Description

The role requires proficiency in Adobe InDesign and an understanding of various design principles. We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Newspaper Designer proficient in Adobe InDesign to join our editorial team. The role involves designing engaging newspaper pages, ensuring clarity, readability, and visual appeal while aligning with editorial standards and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Design and layout daily newspaper pages using Adobe InDesign.

Collaborate with editors, journalists, and photographers to create visually appealing page designs.

Select, crop, and adjust images, graphics, and infographics to complement stories.

Ensure typographic hierarchy, alignment, and readability for print production.

Maintain consistency in design, fonts, spacing, and overall newspaper style guidelines.

Work under tight deadlines to deliver pages on time for press.

Troubleshoot pre-press issues and prepare files for final printing.

Propose creative ideas to improve reader engagement and newspaper aesthetics.

Qualifications

Proficiency in Adobe InDesign (essential), Photoshop, and Illustrator.

Strong sense of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy.
