Company Location: Houston, Texas
Work Type: Remote
Working Hours: 8 AM – 4 PM CST
Position Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth, expanding market presence, and building strong relationships within the lightning prevention & protection and walk-in cooler sectors. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, managing key accounts, and developing tailored solutions for customers in these specialized industries.
Key Responsibilities
Lightning Prevention & Protection
- Develop and execute sales strategies for lightning prevention and protection solutions.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in sectors such as construction, utilities, and industrial facilities.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, engineers, and decision-makers.
- Educate clients and partners on the importance and technical aspects of lightning protection systems.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure product offerings meet client requirements and industry standards.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and association meetings.
- Gather market intelligence and provide feedback for product development and pricing strategies.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and quotations to prospective clients.
- Achieve revenue targets and report on sales activities and forecasts.
Walk-in Cooler Industry
- Research and identify new leads using CRM tools and industry databases.
- Promote the company's suite of walk-in cooler solutions to retailers, food manufacturers, and logistics companies.
- Consult with clients to understand their refrigeration needs and supply chain challenges.
- Develop and implement strategies to penetrate new accounts and expand the customer base.
- Negotiate pricing and contracts, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
- Oversee onboarding processes, including customer SOP creation and implementation planning.
- Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities for growth.
- Meet or exceed sales, profit, and customer acquisition goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related field within technical or industrial markets.
- Strong understanding of lightning protection systems and/or commercial refrigeration solutions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyze market trends and develop strategic plans.
- Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a relevant field preferred.
- Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events.
Performance Metrics

Reporting
- Reports to: Director of Sales or SVP of Business Development
- Provides regular updates on pipeline, forecasts, and market intelligence to management.
