Biocomp Nepal is Hiring General Manager For the Management of Plastic Recycling Facility and Manufacturing of Composite Boards
Position: General manager (GM)
Location (base): Biocomp Office at Lalitpur with frequent travel to the Special Economic Zone, Simara

About Biocomp & Reclaim Nepal: Biocomp Nepal is the leading manufacturer of recycled composite boards in Nepal and aims to end the waste crisis in Nepal, collecting and recycling over 5,000 tons of waste annually. Through our subsidiary brand, Reclaim Nepal, we divert plastic from industries, households, streets and rivers and use these plastics to manufacture Reclaim Durable Boards. These recycled plastic composite boards are strong, water-resistant, and highly durable for construction and furniture applications. Biocomp Nepal is a Social Enterprise with its office in Lalitpur and our factory in the Special Economic Zone in Simara.
We employ over 40 people while driving environmental conservation through proven waste management solutions.
About the Role: We seek an experienced and self-motivated General Manager to lead our integrated operations across Biocomp Nepal's waste management services and Reclaim Nepal's recycled plastic composite board manufacturing. The GM manages the production and sales team as well as the office staff. This role requires leadership in procurement & production oversight, sales growth, and stakeholder management while advancing our mission to make Nepal's cities livable again. The General Manager reports to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management
- Supervise the Production Manager & oversee Reclaim Nepal composite board manufacturing operations
- Ensure implementation of comprehensive quality assurance systems and testing protocols for all composite board products
- Champion lean manufacturing principles, workplace safety, and environmental compliance
- Drive strategic continuous improvement initiatives, cost reduction, production and profit maximization
Procurement Management
- Plan procurement strategies and lead procurement of scrap plastic from landfills sites, aggregators, and industries
- Look over the procurement of other production equipment & office consumables
- Work with the CEO and Production Manager to engage FMCG and MNC organizations for scrap material sourcing under their EPR and CSR schemes.
- Analyze and approve supplier contracts to optimize material costs while ensuring quality standards
Sales & Business Development
- Partner with Sales Manager to develop sales strategies for construction, furniture, and industrial markets
- Support relationship building with distributors, contractors, and key B2B customers
- Provide strategic guidance on pricing and participate in major contract negotiations
- Set and monitor revenue targets while ensuring healthy profit margins
Stakeholder Management
- Engage with communities, government agencies, and waste collection networks
- Lead corporate social responsibility initiatives and represent the organization publicly
- Coordinate with environmental regulators and maintain necessary permits
Team Leadership
- Lead and coordinate between the Production Manager and Sales Manager.
- Foster a culture of innovation, profitability, sustainability, and social impact
- Manage budgets, financial planning, and stakeholder reporting
- Implement performance management systems for the management team
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial) or Business Administration; MBA preferred
- Minimum 7-10 years of production/manufacturing management experience is essential
- Proven track record in manufacturing operations, quality control, and production optimization
- Experience with plastic processing, recycling, composite materials, or construction products highly preferred
- Demonstrated sales management and business development experience
- Strong understanding of Nepali business environment and regulatory landscape
- Experience in project management
- Excellent communication skills in Nepali and English
- Background in lean manufacturing and product optimization methodologies
- Knowledge of circular economy principles and waste management systems
