Position Overview:

Your Role

As a Credit Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to validate, analyse, and assess credit applications in line with the company's Credit Policy. You will be expected to manage daily work allocations effectively, ensuring that tasks are completed within deadlines. In addition, maintaining open communication channels will be key to seeking and providing support as necessary, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to company guidelines.


Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyse the financial details of loan applicants (personal and business) to assess their risk and determine if they qualify for credit.
  • Work closely with Australian lenders to review financial situations, help approve loans and suggest solutions for complex financial issues.
  • Communicate with brokers and clients to gather necessary information and ensure all required documents meet lender guidelines.
  • Perform risk assessments by analyzing market trends, industry data, and other relevant information to ensure everything aligns with collateral and regulations.
  • Decide whether to approve, adjust, extend, or close lines of credit based on a thorough review of financial data.
  • Prepare clear and detailed reports about credit decisions and share them with teams, lenders, and clients.
  • Explain credit decisions and policies clearly to everyone involved.
  • Help train and mentor new team members to ensure smooth transitions and good team collaboration.
  • Review work for quality, check for errors, and look for signs of fraud to ensure accuracy in financial assessments.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and other business partners.


Qualifications/Skills:

  • Must have previous experience as a credit analyst or loan officer in an Australian Mortgage industry.
  • Good knowledge of commercial credit products, loan processes, and financial rules in the Australian market.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working with numbers and data.
  • Able to manage time well and handle multiple tasks at once.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to research financial topics and explain them clearly to others.
  • Confident in making important decisions and negotiating.
  • Strong people skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and partners.
  • Trustworthy and dedicated to keeping client and company information private.


Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
  • CFA certification a plus
  • Experience using spreadsheet software
  • Basic understanding of accounting, statistics, and economics
