Job Description
Responsibilities:- Database Maintenance: Monitor and maintain SQL Server databases to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Backup and Recovery: Perform regular database backups and restorations and ensure disaster recovery plans are in place.
- SQL Query Optimization: Analyze and optimise SQL queries for improved performance and efficiency.
- Support and Troubleshooting: Support database-related issues, troubleshoot errors and manage database connectivity.
- Database Security: Implement database security protocols, manage user roles and ensure data integrity.
- Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of database configurations, scripts and procedures.
- MS SQL Server: Proficiency in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and knowledge of T-SQL for stored procedures, triggers and functions.
- Backup and Restore Operations: Understanding of database backup strategies and point-in-time recovery.
- Performance Monitoring: Familiarity with tools like SQL Profiler and Activity Monitor for database performance analysis.
- Database Design Fundamentals: Basic knowledge of database schemas, normalization, indexing and relationships.
- Data Security: Awareness of user roles, permissions, and data encryption techniques.
- IIS Server: Understanding of Internet Information Services (IIS) for web application deployment and database connectivity.
- .NET Technologies (Advantageous): Experience with .NET frameworks and applications will be considered a plus.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience in a similar role is preferred, but fresh graduates with relevant knowledge are also welcome.
