Job Description
OverviewThe ICT Lab Technician plays a pivotal role in supporting the technical and educational needs of the organization. This position is essential for maintaining a dynamic and efficient ICT laboratory environment. The Lab Technician is responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various computer hardware, software, and networking equipment used in educational settings. By ensuring that all lab equipment is functioning properly and providing prompt technical support to faculty and students, the ICT Lab Technician helps facilitate innovative learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and configure hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
- Toner refilling and handling printing errors.
- Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks for optimal performance.
- Provide technical support for applications like Microsoft Office Packages, Office 365, Outlook, SPSS, digital marketing tools and others.
- Help students troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during lab sessions.
- Maintain accurate records of all ICT equipment in the lab.
- Provide ICT support to students, faculty, and administrative staff as required.
- Keep the computer lab organized and ensure all equipment is functional.
- Assist with implementing new technologies and software updates.
- Interest in working with new innovations and technology.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or Final Year result waiting for a relevant degree.
- Strong understanding of network, printers and system infrastructure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills for troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Good communication skills for interacting with staffs, faculty and students.
- Understanding of networking principles and practices.
