Overview

The EHS Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations within the manufacturing unit. The role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS programs, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a safe working environment for all employees.

Key responsibilities

EHS Program Development

  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS procedures in compliance with organizational requirements.
  • Ensure all employees are aware of and follow EHS policies and procedures.
  • Conduct and regularly monitor risk assessments and hazard analysis to identify potential hazards.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.

Training And Education

  • Conduct EHS training sessions for employees related to EHS requirements.
  • Maintain training records and ensure all employees receive necessary training.

Incident Investigation

  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes.
  • Prepare incident reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant EHS regulations and standards.
  • Prepare and submit required EHS reports.

Waste Management

  • Oversee the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste materials and other waste.
  • Implement waste reduction and recycling programs.

Inspections And Audits

  • Conduct regular EHS inspections and audits of the facility.
  • Ensure all EHS equipment and systems are functioning correctly.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in EHS performance.
  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship within the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in environmental science/ mechanical/ electrical.
  • Certification in Safety Management or Occupational Health (such as NEBOSH or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
  • Ability to conduct training and preparation of presentations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • language proficiency – Hindi, and English

Working Conditions

  • This position requires frequent standing, walking, and the ability to climb stairs and ladders.
