Job Description
Duration: 55 days (August to October 2024)Reports to: Research Manager
Project: Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation (MMS) Supply Readiness Assessment (SRA) in Nepal
Collaboration with:
Internal: Helen Keller all Nepal Staff, APRO, and HQ when required
External: Government, UN agencies, I/NGOs working in nutrition sector
Overall responsibilities:
The Research Coordinator-Consultant will work closely with the Research Manager and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of the assessment project. The Research Coordinator will be responsible for stakeholders’ coordination and facilitation of meetings, oversee data collection, conducting data analysis, and report writing. The Research Coordinator-Consultant will also oversee and coordinate field-level assessment activities. The position will adhere to Helen Keller International’s research ethics.
Deliverables:
- Ensure completion of Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) from all the proposed list of stakeholders at federal, provincial, and local levels for supply readiness assessment
- Support the Research Officers and Research Associates in scheduling interviews and obtaining needful qualitative as well as quantitative (from secondary data) information for the Situation Analysis aspect of the assessment
- Consolidate all federal, provincial, and local level IFA knowledge and conduct field visits where required to collect data at different levels
- Assure the quality of data obtained and regularly monitor in obtaining valid, accurate and complete information
- Ensure completion of the key activities of the supply readiness assessment as per the proposed timeline
- Conduct qualitative data analysis using statistical software (NVivo, Atlas.ti, etc.)
- Support in synthesis of key findings, preparation of slide deck and final report from the assessment
- Support in organizing the dissemination workshop and other relevant meeting with the stakeholders
- Maintain detailed assessment records and documentation
- Master’s degree in public health, nutrition, nursing, supply chain or other relevant field with at least 5 years of experience in research-related activities
- Experience in conducting qualitative data collection and analysis
- Experience working with Nepal’s Health system
✓ Excellent written and spoken Nepali and English language skills
✓ An ability to maintain balance when under stress.
✓ Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
▪ The consultant position is expected to travel 50% of the time out of Kathmandu during the job.
