Job Description

Position: Monitoring, Evaluation, Adaption and Learning (MEAL) Associate

Required number: 1 (One)

Reporting: Education Program Manager and Matrix Reporting to MEAL Manager 

Duty Station: Field Based Position Station at field office in Salieri, Solukhumbu


Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Implement and Monitor the Project’s MEL Plan in consultation with Education Program Manager (EPM) following project’s M & E Framework,
  • Lead for implementing monitoring systems within the assigned project; and designing monitoring tools as guided by M&E Manager/EPM.
  • Provide support to conduct data analysis and share key findings for program improvement and include in project roll out 
  • Contribute to trimestral project reviews/update on the TTQIEP work plan based on consultation with Education Program Manager & project team and enabling team for key strategies including documentation of best practices 
  • Manage and analyze reports; beneficiary database, indicator vs. result based achieved and provide feedback to the team to finalize the reports
  • Support the EPM on the operation and monitoring of the annual work plan TTQIE program
  • Provide support to EPM for the coordination with EDCU, R/Municipal authorities, schools, mother group and program schools for monitoring and evaluation work and develop linkage. 
  • Assist evaluation team for internal and external evaluations processes , program research and study .
  • To assist in organizing internal and external monitoring and evaluation visits and missions.
  • Support to organise external and internal evaluations as required in consultation with Education Program Manager and MEAL Manager.
  • Coordinate for M&E training activities; including workshops and Joint Monitoring Evaluation Committee (JMEC) meetings in consultation with EPM.
  • To assist to organize internal and external monitoring and evaluation visits and missions.  
  • To ensure quality in documentation and reporting process of the project.


Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in social science, Education, Management or relevant field.
  • At least Three (3) years of working experience in MEAL or relevant field (preference to knowledge on KoBo/M&E software).
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, including exceptional communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office package and internet.
  • Experience with data collection, data analysis, data presentation, case story, monitoring including writing both qualitative and quantitative reports.
  • Ability to travel to rural areas including overnights during field visit.
