Job Description
Position Title: Logistics Officer
Employment Type Full-time
Location: Sukhedhara Kathmandu
Responsibilities
- Coordinate end-to-end logistics for raw materials, domestic and international.
- Manage transportation, customs clearance, and leases with freight forwarders.
- Prepare shipping documentation—e.g., delivery channels, waybills, invoices—in an accurate and timely manner.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and sales to forecast and plan operations.
- Track and report key logistics metrics: delivery punctuality, cost per shipment, and inventory accuracy.
- Resolve logistics bottlenecks, such as delays or damages, proactively.
- Build strong vendor relationships and negotiate service rates with transporters and forwarders.
- Handle documentation: prepare, check, and submit documents (invoice, packing list, BL/AWB, COO, insurance, etc.) in compliance with LC terms.
- Liaise with banks, freight forwarders, and customs for LC, import/export clearance, and timely shipment.
- Negotiate with transporters and vendors to optimize costs.
- Collaborate with procurement and production to plan material flow as per forecast.
- Prepare logistics reports and monitor KPIs (delivery time, transport cost, stock accuracy).
- Resolve shipment issues, delays, or discrepancies in LC documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customs regulations, and trade laws.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Minimum 6 months logistics experience—preferably within manufacturing
- Well-versed in customs procedures and documentation for imports/exports.
- Familiarity with MS Office (Excel); experience with ERP or logistics software is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
