Summary

Cedar Gate Services is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance front-end and back-end systems that support our healthcare technology solutions. You will lead technical initiatives, contribute to architectural decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative features. As a hands-on engineer, you will write clean and efficient code, guide best practices, and mentor junior team members. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, has deep technical knowledge, and is effective in communication skills.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Analyze complex software requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Architect, design, and implement scalable backend components, services, and APIs
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using Java, Groovy, Grails, and Python
• Lead design discussions and conduct code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability
• Mentor junior developers and guide them in writing industry-standard code
• Develop solutions with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and security
• Work extensively with AWS services, integrating them into the system architecture as needed
• Implement advanced concepts like non-blocking code, multi-threading, and caching
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to product planning
• Work with both SQL (MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases
• Create and maintain architectural documents and reusable modules
• Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles and perform unit testing
• Debug and resolve complex software defects to ensure system stability
• Continuously research and integrate new tools, libraries, and APIs
• Contribute to process improvements and best practices in software development
• Ensure the reliability, stability, and performance of deployed systems
• Perform other related duties as assigned
  
  

Required Experience/Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 3+ years of relevant software development experience
• Strong programming expertise in Java (including Java 8+), Groovy, Grails, React and Python
• Proven experience in system design, performance tuning, and scalability
• Solid knowledge of object-oriented and reactive programming paradigms
• Proficient with RESTful APIs, JSON, and version control systems like Git
• Familiarity with software design patterns and architectural principles
• In-depth knowledge of AWS services and frameworks such as Lambda, EC2, S3, and RDS
• Experience with build tools such as Maven and Gradle
• Hands-on experience with Docker and scripting (Python, Shell)
• Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL database systems
• Good working knowledge of Linux environments
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to lead technical discussions and drive solutions independently
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in mentoring and supporting team members
