Job Summary:

The Presales Engineer will work closely with the sales team to provide technical expertise and support throughout the sales process. This includes engaging with prospective customers, understanding their business requirements, presenting tailored solutions, and assisting in the successful closing of deals. The Presales Engineer will also act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for specific products, offering in-depth technical knowledge and expertise to both the sales team and customers. The role is vital in ensuring that the solutions offered are technically sound and align with client needs.


Key Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement:

  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Conduct product demos and presentations to prospective clients, highlighting the technical value and benefits of our solutions.
  • Provide expert-level support to address customer technical questions and challenges.
  • Act as a technical advisor throughout the sales process to ensure customers understand the full capabilities and benefits of the solution.

Solution Design & Proposal Development:

  • Design custom solutions based on customer needs, ensuring alignment with best practices and product capabilities.
  • Develop and present compelling technical proposals and documentation that address customer requirements and pain points.
  • Prepare and review technical components of RFPs (Request for Proposals), RFIs (Request for Information), and other pre-sales documentation.

Subject Matter Expert (SME) Role:

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for [specific products or solutions], providing deep technical expertise and guidance to both the sales team and clients.
  • Stay up to date with product enhancements and industry trends, ensuring that you remain a trusted advisor on specific products.
  • Lead deep-dive technical sessions with customers, addressing complex use cases and solution implementations.
  • Support the development of technical documentation, FAQs, and best practices for the targeted products.

Product Expertise & Support:

  • Stay current with product offerings, updates, and industry trends to provide accurate and relevant advice to customers.
  • Collaborate with product management and development teams to relay customer feedback and market requirements.

Pre-sales Support:

  • Assist in the creation of sales collateral and presentations to help the sales team effectively communicate technical value propositions.
  • Lead proof-of-concept (POC) engagements, ensuring that the solution is validated and meets the client’s expectations.
  • Provide training to sales teams on technical features and competitive positioning.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing support to ensure customers are satisfied with the proposed solution and successfully onboard.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in a presales engineering, solution engineering, or technical sales role.
  • Strong technical knowledge in [specific technologies, software, or services the company deals with].
  • Experience conducting product demos, technical presentations, and solution design discussions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to understand customer needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required (if applicable).


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in relevant technologies or platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.).
  • Experience with [specific industry or product-related knowledge].
  • Familiarity with sales CRM tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing, enterprise software, networking, or other relevant domains.
